MID DAY CONCERT SERIES
Proudly Presents
Joan Crane and Steve Feinbloom
Thursday, JULY 28, 2011 @ 11:30am

Guitarist and singer Joan Crane has been performing finger style acoustic blues in the Northeast and Midwest. Her masterful guitar style ranges from the emotional Delta style to the bouncy, syncopated Piedmont style.

Steve Feinbloom

Steve Feinbloom

Accompanying Joan will be upright bassist Steve Feinbloom, whose bass work ┬ácomplements the intricacy of Joan’s guitar. Steve has played bass for more than 3 decades with numerous blues and bluegrass groups and adds his own wry sense of humor to the performance. Steve resides in metropolitan Wadhams with pianist Rose Chancler and their daughter who has yet to focus on any one musical instrument.

The Mid Day Concert Series features an eclectic mix of music performed by local musicians. The atmosphere is casual, and attendees are invited to have lunch following the performance at a local restaurant.

Performances: Performances are held Thursday mornings at 11:30am, and last about 45 minutes.
Admission: Admission is free, but donations are appreciated.

Lunch is available close by at Essex Provisions, offering sandwiches and deli delights (8am–7 pm), The Old Dock House and The Rudder Club at The Essex Shipyard.

Essex Independence Day Schedule

Fireworks on the Fourth of July

Image via Wikipedia

It promises to be a sensational Independence Day weekend in Essex. Running race, raft race, concert, parade, strawberry shortcake, fireworks, and two more businesses opening for the season… Happy 4th of July!

Thanks to Norma Goff for making sure that the Independence Day weekend schedule made it up onto Essex on Lake Champlain (@EssexNY and Facebook too). Here’s the overview she posted:

Fireworks at the park on Friday night (the 1st), at 9:15 PM, preceded by an organ concert at the Essex Community Church featuring Carol Williams from California. The parade is on the next day, Saturday, at 11 AM, followed by activities at the park, including a raft race. Also that day from 10:30 on there will be strawberry shortcake for sale at the Essex Community Church, and at 10 AM, at St. John’s Church, there will be singing of special music for the 4th, should you want to add any of this to your site.

Lest anything slip through the cracks, I’m going to include the “official” information from the Town of Essex website:
